An upper-mid-range option on the west coast of Barbados, The Club Barbados Resort & Spa is one of just a few adults-only (16 years and up), all-inclusive resorts on the island; it caters well to couples with a good selection of activities. The beach is poor in quality (it’s very small and very rocky, with limited ocean entry points; this factor has a very strong negative effect on the TripValue and Overall Beach Resort Rating, downgrading the latter from the upper B range to the upper C range), there are just two on-site restaurants (which is well below average for an all-inclusive), and the rooms are dated (especially for the price point); but the property offers a multi-level freshwater swimming pool, four impressive bars including the popular Beach Bar (where the “Green Monkey” is the signature drink), friendly overall service, a fairly large fitness center with a good selection of equipment, an on-site spa with couples massages and aromatherapy salt scrubs, an on-site library, live music nightly, and daily afternoon tea by the main pool. Rooms come with dark wood accents, mini-fridges, ceiling fans, artwork, and spacious balconies or terraces. Activities include Bajan cooking classes and rum tastings, Caribbean dance classes, rumology cocktail making classes, aqua aerobics, morning stretch classes, ping pong tournaments, historical walks to Holetown, weekly managers’ cocktail parties with local art vendors, Hobie Cat sailing, reef fishing, kayaking, snorkeling, stand-up paddleboarding, and water skiing. There’s a small shopping mall directly across the street.
All travelers to Barbados are required to present proof of a valid negative COVID-19 PCR test taken at a an accredited or recognized laboratory within three days prior to arrival. It is also necessary to complete your on-line immigration and customs form by going to www.travelform.gov.bb. The form should be completed 24 hours prior to arrival, and preferably include the upload of your negative COVID-19 PCR test result. Travelers will be required to retest with a COVID-19 PCR test 5 days (120 hours) after their arrival in the country. If the result of that second PCR test is negative, that traveler can now enjoy unrestricted movement to public spaces (including the beach). Guests from High and Medium Category countries (which currently includes the UK, the US and Canada) must quarantine in their rooms until the second test is negative.
